On Fri., Nov. 7, at 7:00 p.m., at King's Books in Tacoma (218 St. Helens Ave.), UFPPC will sponsor a free lecture on "The Coming Economic Showdown over Climate Change" by Dr. Peter Dorman of The Evergreen State College in Olympia.[1]  --  Dr. Dorman holds a 1987 Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, and teaches economics, environmental policy, environmental studies, labor studies, political economy, political philosophy, public health, public policy, statistics.  --  Dorman challenges orthodox positions on free trade, and his name is often mentioned as a leading heterodox economist (e.g. by Christopher Hayes, who in "Hip Heterodoxy" (The Nation, May 24, 2007) speaks of Dorman's "gentle, bearded air")....
