The 9th Salon Society Sunday Society Series will be April 29th, 2007, and the general public is welcome.  It will be at the home of Mike and Marty Webb in Tacoma, at 1215 North "K" St., from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

A performance on hurdy-gurdies will begin shortly after guests arrive. Alden and Cali Hackmann will be playing a variety of traditional French dance tunes interspersed with selections from the medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras.

Informal interaction will follow with refreshments, including wine and hors d'oeuvres.

Environmental consultant Mike Webb will lead a presentation and discussion on alternative fuels and energy.  At 3:00 p.m. Pierce County Councilman Tim Farrell will continue the discussion from a local perspective.

While this is open to the public, it's an intimate gathering in a private home so seating is limited.  Tickets which cost $15.00 may be purchased at the door on the day of the event.

This is a fundraiser for United for Peace of Pierce County whose mission is to nonviolently oppose reliance on pre-emptive unilateral military actions rather than cooperative diplomacy.  The funds are to be used for educational purposes.
