Mohsen Mirghanbari of the Tacoma Film Club will lead a discussion following the 4:40 p.m. screening of "Persepolis," Marjane Satrapi's animated film about her rebellious adolescence in the Islamic Republic of Iran, at Tacoma's Grand Cinema on Saturday. -- Mohsen says: "Though politically motivated, the film brings to light many questions asked by those wanting to learn more about present-day Iran."[1] -- A trailer of the film can be viewed at the link below.[2] -- The film, originally released in France and Belgium on Jun. 25, 2007, was released in the U.S. on Dec. 25. -- Released in Canada with the original French soundtrack and English subtitles, the U.S. release features a soundtrack in English soundtrack, with Chiara Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve reprising their roles in English, but with Marjane's father's voice by Sean Penn, her Uncle Anouche by Iggy Pop, and her grandmother by Gena Rowlands. -- "Persepolis" won the Jury Prize at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival....
