At 7:30 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 20, Treye McKinney will give a PowerPoint presentation on his recent trip to Israel and the Occupied Territories.  --  McKinney is a staffer at Tacoma Catholic Worker Guadalupe House, a transitional house for the homeless, and returned to the U.S. in November.  --  He traveled with a Christian Peacemaker Team and met people on both sides of the conflict.  --  In November, he told the News Tribune (Tacoma, WA):  "What I saw made me sad.  But amidst all of the horrible things that are going on, the people who are living there have hope and that gives me hope, as well.” ...

On February 20, 2008, at 7:30 p.m., Treye McKinney, who works at a transitional house for the homeless in Tacoma, will give a PowerPoint presentation of his trip last autumn to Palestine-Israel with Christian Peacemaker Teams (presentation at Guadalupe House, 1417 South "G" St., Tacoma, WA).

Treye spent time in refugee camps, Israeli settlements, and major cities all through the West Bank. Come learn about some of the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and how average people on the ground survive in a war zone.
