UFPPC’s successful Sunday salon series continues on Sun., Jan. 14, 2007, in north Tacoma. -- The Jan. 14 Sunday salon will feature a live musical performance (Celtic guitar by Mike Saunders) as well as a discussion with Roel van der Lugt, senior field representative of Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA 9th) WHEN: Sunday, January 14, 2007 -- 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. WHERE: 4414 N. 34th St., Tacoma, WA [From Kristi Nebel] SALON INVITATION The Salon Society Second Sunday Series in Tacoma on January 14th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 4414 North 34th Street still has plenty of room available and the general public is welcome. This is a fundraiser for United for Peace of Pierce County whose mission is to nonviolently oppose reliance on pre-emptive unilateral military actions rather than cooperative diplomacy. The funds are to be used for educational purposes. The conversation, led by Roel van der Lugt, Senior Field Representative from Congressman Adam Smith’s office, will be on the future of international policy-making as led by the newly elected Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. A performance by Mike Saunders of Gig Harbor will convene shortly after guests arrive. He plays acoustic guitar solos of Celtic and jazz music. Informal interaction will follow with refreshments, including wine and hors d’oeuvres. While this is open to the public, it’s an intimate gathering in a private home belonging to Marilyn Kimmerling.
