Salon Invitation

You are cordially invited to the third of five gatherings of the Salon Society Second Sunday Series on March 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 205 Berkeley Avenue in Fircrest, Tacoma.

This is a fundraiser for United for Peace of Pierce County whose mission is to nonviolently oppose reliance on pre-emptive unilateral military actions rather than cooperative diplomacy.  The funds are to be used for educational purposes.

Dr. Mark Jensen will introduce the event with a short history of the Parisian salon.  He is associate professor of French at Pacific Lutheran University.  The featured panel representing varied media will be led by Dr. David Gilmour on the topic of how to make art more politically effective.  Discussion will follow with refreshments, including wine and hors d'oeuvres.

The musical portion of the salon will feature the original celtic harp compositions of David Michael of Port Townsend.

This is an intimate gathering in a private home belonging to Louisa Beal.  Seating is limited to 25 and tickets are $15.00 each.  They can be purchased by calling Kristi Nebel at 253-573-1504, and sent by mail.

Contact person:  Kristi Nebel, 573-1504.
