RUMOR: Debka reports US & Israeli special units training in Negev Print E-mail

Five weeks ago, London's Sunday Times reported that Ariel Sharon had given "initial authorization" for an attack on Iran's nuclear program and that an elaborate mock-up of the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in central Iran had been constructed in the Negev desert so that elite commando teams could practice.  --  This makes Debka's headline that U.S. and Israeli special unites have been holding joint training exercises in Israel's southern Negev especially intriguing....

DEBKAfile’s military sources report: Long convoy of dozens of unmarked American military including Stryker light armored infantry carriers loaded with U.S. troops sighted on Israel’s Highway 40 heading out of Lod in central Israel to the south. Troops sitting in open turrets. DEBKAfile adds: In past two weeks, U.S. and Israeli special units holding joint training exercises in Israel’s southern Negev.
